the 8th tooth

Sonja's 8th tooth arrived yesterday. #5 and #6 were quite painful, but this one appeared nearly unnoticed.

She's enjoying our new place. She goes into each room and shuts the door behind herself and then knocks on the door. It's quite fun. She also walks around in circles underneath the kitchen counter and in between the legs of her high chair. She's tried to climb the built-in shelves in the bathroom and stands up on the couch to see the cars go by each morning.

At our 1 year check up, Sonja weighed in just under 20 pounds (25-50%) and was 30.5 inches (90%) tall. She weighed over 12 pounds at 2 months, so she's definitely slowed down on the weight gain. She looks like a little girl now, rather than a baby. She makes a lot of noise, most of which is still incoherent but we can tell parts of "hello", "mama", "dada", "ner" for Auntie Jenner, and "na" for Sonja. She gives high fives, will bonk your head with hers (sometimes without prompting!), and still sucks on her middle 2 fingers when she's tired.

We're having a great time and look forward to having her open our Christmas presents for us!

I guess she got her "two front teeth" plus a few more in time for Christmas!

We just wanted to wish you a "Merry Christmas"! I bet it will be especially fun now that she can open presents (although I've found our girls sometimes liked the paper more than the gift at that age!).

Here's a message from Naomi (with a little help & some of it she typed on her own):
I LOVE YOU BABY SONJA!
