2 Month Update
Sonja's moving along quite well.
At her 2 month check up, she weighed in at 12 lbs. 0.5. oz.
and was 23 inches long. At her latest ultrasound, her hips
were moving into correct alignment. She'll be checked
again in a few weeks to determine whether she'll need
the harness any longer.

Hip Dysplasia
Sonja was diagnosed with hip dysplasia yesterday morning after an ultrasound. She doesn't have a very severe case, but she will still need to wear a harness for the next couple of weeks to make sure that her hips form properly.
She gets to ear the harness about 22 hours a day at first, basically only getting it taken off to change her onesie or take a bath. The whole get-up keeps her legs in a "frog" position and keeps her from straighting out her legs all the way. She doesn't seem to mind it too much, but she can't be swaddled at night, which was her favorite way to sleep. Hopefully she will get used to this soon and start sleeping like a champ again.
