Future Vegetarian?

Today, we brought home a rotisserie chicken from Costco at lunch.

Since it was already 2pm and Sonja needed a nap, I set the chicken on the table and started to cut it into pieces for her to eat (quickly!).

This is what followed...

"oh chicken, you ok? chicken, where is your eye? where is your mouth?"

I explained that chicken didn't have a head (or eyes or mouth) any more because the butcher cut it off so we could eat the chicken. She then began to pet the cooked rotisserie chicken saying,

"it's ok...it's ok chicken"

"oh, chicken... oh, chicken"

She pet the chicken a few more times and then, without hesitation, proceeded to eat it.

My kid.

She can be so silly. Mr. Potatohead's glasses and a rubber dog bone. She carried the bone in her mouth all afternoon.

Gardening with Sonja

A couple of weeks ago, Sonja and I worked on planting seeds with Auntie Jenn.
Here are a couple of photos from our garden.

400 m dash...or 150 m dash

A few weeks ago, Sonja participated in her first running race. She ran 150 m of a 400 m dash at Magnuson Park. She was so tired that she rode in the stroller for the remaining 5k!

We're going to be running a few more of these races (5k and 10k)as I'm training for a half marathon in June. Sonja might be able to finish the 400 m dash by then!

Clips!

Sonja asked for 2 clips, then another, then another, until she had a lovely french twist!

New hairstyles

A few weeks ago, Sonja decided it was OK to wear ponytails. It only happened once. She's refused a clip, barrette, or ponytail until tonight when Ryan took her to Claire's to pick out her own clips. I don't want to cut her bangs again!
